The National Institute for Space Research (INPE), through the EMBRACE program (Brazilian Study and Monitoring of Space Weather), carries out continuous monitoring of the space environment with a focus on the Sun–Earth relationship. This system tracks phenomena that affect the magnetosphere, the ionosphere, the upper atmosphere, and geomagnetically induced currents on the ground, with the objective of understanding, forecasting, and helping to mitigate the impacts of space weather on technological, economic, social, and aeronautical systems.
Currently, EMBRACE has several institutional and operational users, for whom it has been developing space weather products and services applied to different strategic sectors.
Aviation and air navigation
Satellite operations and atmospheric drag effects
GNSS positioning and precision agriculture
Communications and radiopropagation
Defense and strategic applications
The EMBRACE Workshop with Users 2026 has as its main objective to strengthen the interaction between data providers, researchers, and the different sectors that use space weather products and services. The event seeks to promote dialogue between the scientific community and operational users of this information, identifying demands, challenges, and opportunities for the development of new products and services.
