We invite graduate students and young scientist interested in Solar Physics, Interplanetary Medium, Geomagnetic Field, Earth Magnetism, and Ionized and Neutral Earth’s Atmosphere to send an application to the COSPAR Space Weather Capacity Building Workshop 2018 (SW-CBW 2018). This is a valuable opportunity to better understand Space Weather, to learn modern techniques for data analyses, to developing abilities on Space Weather issues and also to establish new collaborations and make new friends. Applications must be made through the website until May 15.
The SW-CBW will introduce the students to a system-wide investigation of Space Weather phenomena, bringing together topics in Space Weather Science and Applications, in all the Solar-Terrestrial coupling areas. This workshop will take place at the facilities of the Brazilian Space Weather Study and Monitoring Program (EMBRACE – Estudo e Monitoramento Brasileiro do Clima Espacial) located at National Institute for Space Research (INPE – Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais) in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 17 September 2018 to 28 September 2018.
The workshop will dedicate two entire days for each one of the four main topics with lectures conducted by renowned scientists in each specialized field. Planned activities include also training in space and ground-based data analysis throughout the workshop. The students will also be invited to develop a group project to be presented to all attendees.
Hotel and meals will be free of charge for all the 30 selected students during the days of the workshop. The attendees can apply for a financial support to partially cover the air tickets expenses (subject to analysis considering fund availability).
